Blog Post #1 - Cadbury vs. Toblerone on Facebook

Cadbury vs Toblerone on Facebook

How often does each brand post?

Cadbury is not that active on Facebook. By the looks of it on their Facebook page they most likely post something once a month or on special occasions such as the Canadian Olympics since they were considered as a sponsorship for that event. Cadbury’s last post on Facebook was January 6th, 2017.

Toblerone is quite active on Facebook. They would post something every day or even on every other day. Especially on special occasions such as Valentine’s Day they would have more than one post daily. Toblerone’s last post was February, 14th, 2017; the post was directed specifically for Valentine’s Day.

What kind of content does each brand post?

Cadbury does not usually post a lot of photos. It is mostly videos of advertisements based on their chocolate. An example would be during the Christmas season they would post a video of how to make Cadbury Diary Milk Rocky Road Bars and caption their post “Tis always the season for Cadbury Diary Milk Rocky Road Bars”.

Over the last few days, Toblerone had various post on Facebook regarding baked goods and recipes that readers could make on their own using Toblerone chocolate. On Valentines which was not too long ago, Toberlone advertised an ad of their chocolate shaped in a heart with a caption that read ‘share the love (and your chocolate) this #ValentinesDay’.

Does each brand use the 50/50 rule?

I think believe that Cadbury uses the 50/50 rule. Even though they do not post a lot they do however, take the initiative to read through the comments on their post and reply to certain individuals who share their love for their chocolate.

Toblerone does use the 50/50 rule on Facebook. They post a lot more than Cadbury does daily. They do encourage others to make baked goods using their chocolate and they take the time to read through comments and like post that customers have posted.

Keyword sentences used by either brand.

Cadbury uses various key words in their Facebook post including: “Diary milk”, “Cadbury” and “chocolate”. Toblerone uses key words as well such as “Swiss”, “Chocolate” and “Toblerone”.

Which are the most successful recent posts?

The most successful recent post for Cadbury was on December 15th, 2016. Cadbury does have a post in January but it was not as popular as their post from December 15th. Their post had 2.2k likes, 359 shares, and 132 comments. This post was about how Joannie Rochette (Olympic bronze medalist) who helped Cadbury delivered chocolate during their tour in Ottawa.

The most successful Toblerone post was on February 14th, 2017 at 4:43am. The post was for Valentine’s Day and it was a picture of a bunch of Toberlone packages that said ‘I love you’. The post had 1.6k likes and 64 comments.

Why were these post successful?
Cadbury post was successful because they had a famous person who was well known for her achievements in their advertisements. Their advertisement also displayed the type of company that Cadbury was, a generous company who donates to charity.

Toblerone’s post was a success because it was Valentine’s Day and when most people think of Valentine’s Day, they think of chocolate. Toberlone also changing their packaging for Valentine’s Day made their product look more valuable in the advertisement.

Blog Post #5 - Content Marketing Idea for The Hershey Company

This is a student-concept for a Sheridan Pilon School of Business Digital Marketing Course. Since Hershey posts a lot of baking recipes on their Facebook, my idea would to make a contest out of it for consumers to enjoy. The audience is for anyone between the ages of 10-50, but the main focus is to get the audience to bake their sweets with loved ones. The audience is asked to make a baked good (using any of the Hershey Company’s products) and take the sweetest picture with them and their loved ones and their finished product. The audience will then be asked to 1) Like and Follow HERSHEY’s on Facebook and 2) Post the picture on Facebook, while using the hashtag #HersheyLove and 5 winners can win a trip for four to the Hershey Park in Hershey, Derry Township, Pennsylvania. The goal is to get 200 likes and followers on the HERSHEY’s Facebook page, and 200 participants in the contest. This contest will be launched in the beginning of March so the contest can run for a mon...

Blog Post #5: Marketing Content Idea for One of the Brands

Ferrero Rocher vs. Nutella  Who are you creating this campaign for (which brand)?   I am creating this campaign for Ferrero Rocher since they could improve more on their social media activity. What is your idea? My Idea for Ferrero Rocher is to become more active on their Twitter page by launching a contest that requires people to use the hashtag #FerreroMovement . With this hashtag, people are required to come up with creative ways that they can use Ferrero Rocher in their lives and how it is incorporated in their daily life. The idea also consists of the company creating a blog where many of these participants' picture tagged with #FerreroMovement would be featured. Who is your audience? The audience would be anyone around the world who has an interest in chocolate, and wants a chance to win at something. It also targets people that have interest in picture taking and blogging.  What will it look like? (Create mock-ups, posters, infographics o...
